Roadside Junkyard

Last Fall I was checking out some of the roads just past Wendel and happened upon this wreck. It is sitting on the California/Nevada border. I had no idea that Wendel and Herlong were that close to the border, now I have a map!

This bus is wasting away in a field just behind the Lassen Beverage Company on Alexander Street. This photo is from last fall, just as a rain storm was lifting. The sun was touching down on this spot, while the clouds were shading the surrounding the areas.

Tranquil

One of the things I love about Lassen County is its easy to find a quiet tranquil place to sit and relax.

Watch for Beer

I saw this when I was at Eagle Lake recently. My kids think its the funniest thing ever! There was no where to pull off, so I had to lean over the passenger seat to take the pic out the window.

Litter everywhere!!!

The Susan River is like any river in a populated area. Careless folks toss in whatever they won't take home with them. This photo was taken near the Susan River Bike Trail and the Alexander Street Bridge. Its a popular fishing area, in fact this is the first time I have been there and only one person was fishing. Normally it's very busy. I think its also a popular area to hang out and drink. The river bank had litter everywhere. I did notice there are no garbage cans in this area at all. Maybe the city should place a few garbage cans along the bike trail to help minimize the litter issues.

Butterflies..........

The other day the kids and I were out & about when we saw three Tiger Swallowtail Butterflies. I had to stop Jack from catching them, silly boy. They are beautiful insects.

Sunflowers in my backyard.........

The kids and I planted some seeds in May. They are just starting to bloom. I LOVE sunflowers. Sunflowers and Gerbera Daisies are my FAVORITE flowers.
