These photos were taken around 11 am on Friday, August 7th. The smoke seems to have thickened since then. There is little to no breeze, so the smoke is just sitting here.
Today I was hoping to get some nice photos of the river before the leaves change during autumn. No such luck. The smoke from the Moonlight fire is thick. It reminds me of the fog in Sacramento when I was a kid. Luckily Sacramento's fog is gone by lunchtime while the smoke here is getting thicker as the day goes by.
FYI - After school sports at Lassen High are cancelled for today. Lassen was supposed to play Enterprise at home tonight. Looks like they will be playing in the valley tomorrow, unless the smoke clears by early morning.

The wind has really kicked up. That is good and bad. The good part is the smoke that was close to the ground is moving out. But, wind is never good for fire fighters.

i thought of you this morning on my way to work - i wondered if you would be out today taking pics of the "fog" i so wanted to stop and take pics this morn but there is no time

did you hear that the highschool ran ourdoor PE today yikes what were they thinking i guess they got some really sick kids
there is a little wind here barley anything compared to usual and we are still in complete "fog" it is horrible
i took a nap for a bit and woke up and came outside and there is just tons and tons of ash on my back porch it is kinda crazy
The high school is funny. They cancelled the football games this morning, but ran PE anyway, lol. The elementary schools had inside recess today, my kids were not happy with that, lol. They think the smoke is cool. Crazy kids!
We haven't had much ash over here. We have had some fine particles fall, not the huge pieces like at the start of this fire.
The smoke doesn't seem as bad like it was this afternoon. The wind is good and bad at the same time. Good since its moving the smoke out, but bad since its moving the fire towards Susanville and Antelope Lake. Yikes!!!!
Sunday there is supposed to be a triathalon at Eagle Lake. I wonder if they cancel.
